Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry the new, improved formula did not work for your family. Generally liquids or more readily absorbed, but not necessarily better absorbed. Also, there would be no reason to think the chews are harder on the GI tract. NUSENTIA, of course, is invested in products to improve pets’ heath. DERMIX has been a very good formula in the NUSENTIA line for fourteen years. That being the case, in 2024 we saw some ways to improve the formula with an increased focus on allergies. We think we have created something of great value and effectiveness with our newly revised chew formula.

Highlights:
1. Will be in chew form for easier administration
2. Changed EFA’s to a higher Omega-3 content
3. Added Colostrum: great for itching and overall immune response
4. Added Quercetin, Bromelain, and Vitamin C: great for immune response as antihistamines
5. Removed some less then essential to allergies ingredients (glucosamine, and some other amino acids)

So even stronger defense against Allergies and still great for Skin and Coat will be evident. Additionally, a much better overall value for cost:

For those with smaller animals you can use less then 1 chew per day, as you did when you used less then 1oz. For those with mid to larger animals; a good guideline is 1 chew is equal to 1 oz. as to delivering the same nutrition (plus you have the additional ingredients).

Essentially you get nearly 3X more nutrition for only 32% more of the cost with the new formula change.

Omega-3’s
Our new and improved Dermix formula contains significant levels of Omega-3 fatty acids. Among their many benefits, such as eye, brain, and heart health, these essential fatty acids are included in the formula because the are extremely effective for allergies and for skin and coat.

Colostrum
Colostrum contains immunoglobulins (also called antibodies). The antibodies in colostrum include IgG, IgM and IgA.. It also contains lactoferrin, and Proline-rich peptides( PRP). These all serve to be strong immune enhancers. In the case of Allergies (which an overactive immune response.); colostrum helps moderate that response. Colostrum also helps manage inflammation that cause rashes, itching, and discomfort for your dog. Additionally, it can help manage leaky gut, which a common cause of allergic reactions in dogs.

Quercetin
Is a flavonoid; phytochemical compounds present in many plants, fruits, and vegetables. Quercetin suppresses the release of histamine, which is what causes much of the inflammation, redness and irritation caused by pet allergies.

Bromelain
Is a digestive enzyme that has very strong anti-inflammatory properties. Along with Quercitin and Vitamin C, it is part of the Dermix immune balancing matrix.

Vitamin C
A potent antioxidant, vitamin C protects your cells from damage, reduces the severity of allergic reactions.
