4 NATURAL STEPS FOR A SHINIER HEALTHIER

4 Natural Steps for a Shinier Healthier Coat

A shiny coat is a sign of a healthy coat. If your pet’s coat is not as you like, here are 4 simple things to do to shine it up!

1. INTRODUCE HEALTHY FATS INTO YOUR PET’S DIET

Options range form supplementing with Omega-3s like in Nusentia®’s Celavin™, to making sure the food you feed your pet has a sufficient amount of healthy fat in it, or even adding tuna or sardines to your pets’ diet. Providing healthy fats is step one in getting a shiny and healthy coat.

2. REGULAR BRUSHING

At least 2 times per week; this will help to stimulate the release of the natural oils that make the coat shiny.

3. REGULAR BATHING

This helps to keep the coat clean, which allows the coat to be healthier. Don’t do it too often though, every 4-6 weeks is fine for the typical dog. For those with cats; bathe on an as needed basis, (let smell be your guide), but it probably won’t be as often as a dog, and especially if they are an indoor cat. When you do bathe your pet, don’t use shampoos that are harsh or full of chemicals (look for “mild”), and try to find ones that are moisturizing.

4. PROVIDE SOME RELIEF FROM THE ELEMENTS

Provide shelter from the elements; this will help to combat the dryness and dullness of the coat happens especially in colder weather.
